Now

A small working clipboard. Seven active clips, always close.

Illustrated study / NowOpen source

Copying something new shouldn’t make the previous thing disappear. Now is a native menu-bar app that keeps seven active clips within reach, with older clips available when you search. It all stays on your Mac.

01

A working surface, sized for the moment.

The seven most recent clips are immediately available. The previous clip is preselected because it is often the one you meant to recover. Arrow keys, number keys, and Return make the whole surface usable from the keyboard.

02

One copy stays one clip.

A clipboard item can contain text, rich text, images, links, and files at the same time. Now preserves those representations together, so pasting doesn’t silently flatten what you copied. An exact duplicate moves forward instead of creating another card.

03

Small by design.

Now uses SwiftUI, AppKit, and SwiftData, with no third-party runtime dependencies. There is no account or sync service. Normal paste keeps working, and direct paste is an optional Accessibility capability.
